Santa Ana Teacher Sentenced for Molestation

Bijon Watson, of Santa Ana was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of molesting a 16-year-old student. Watson, was in charge of the jazz program at the Orange County School of the Arts where the molestation took place. Watson pleaded guilty to three counts of Penal Code Section 647.6-Annoying/Molesting a Child, all misdemeanors.

In addition to the 90 days jail, Watson will also be on formal probation for five years, register as a sex offender pursuant to Penal Code Section 290 and attend court mandated sex offender classes.

The victim, who was 12 when she first met Watson said Watson had kissed and fondled her in his office. He also asked her to orally copulate him and sent sexually explicit text messages.

‘Ultimate’ Fighter Faces Felony Charges in Orange County Police Chase

Quinton ”Rampage” Jackson known within the Ultimate Fighting world as a champion fighter was charged with two felony counts of felony evading stemming from a police chase.

Jackson, who lives in Irvine was also charged with several misdemeanor hit-and-run charges causing property damage and misdemeanor reckless driving. If convicted on all charges, Jackson faces a possible three years in state prison.

Jackson was arraigned in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and bail was set at $250,000.

According to reports, Jackson was driving his truck on the 55 freeway when he crashed his truck into two cars at the end of the 55 and 19th Street.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, witnesses say they saw Jackson on a cell phone and weaving while driving. When an officer pulled up behind Jackson and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Jackson sped away.

Moments later, Jackson crashed into another vehicle, drove into oncoming traffic and jumped a curb causing pedestrians who were waiting for a bus to scatter.

Holli Griggs, a resident of Huntington Beach was driving a Cadillac Escalade and was one of the vehicles hit by Jackson. Griggs, later suffered a miscarriage, however, the OC District Attorney’s Office says the miscarriage was not a result of the crash.

‘Top Chef’ Contestant Arrested on Suspicion of DUI in Laguna Beach

Marcel Vigneron, the runner up in Bravo’s reality show “Top Chef” was arrested by Laguna Beach Police for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Vigneron was participating in cooking demonstrations at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts when the incident occurred.

Vigneron, was stopped for speeding when Laguna Beach police officers suspected Vigneron was under the influence. After the officers conducted a DUI investigation, including field sobriety tests, the officers arrested Vigneron for suspicion of drunk driving. He was released on $2,500 bail.

Orange County Juveniles Arrested on Charges of Suspicion of Arson

Five Irvine juveniles were arrested on suspicion of arson stemming from an investigation of fires reported at College Park Elementary, Irvine police said.

The juveniles, who are 13- and 14 year old Irvine residents were questioned and released to their parents. According to Lt. Rick Handfield of the Irvine Police Department, the juveniles admitted setting cardboard on fire the night before the fires were set.

Police suspect the juveniles set fire to the kindergarten building on Saturday night and returned the following day to set fire to the playground.

Witnesses saw the kids playing with “flaming objects” and called the Irvine PD. Upon arrival, the officers found the juveniles next to a small fire that appeared to have been set with an aerosol can.

It is unknown at this time if the Orange County District Attorney’s Office is going to file charges against the juveniles for arson or other related charges in juvenile court.
