Santa Ana Man Charged with Unlawful Sex with a Minor

Neftali Procopio of Santa Ana was charged with having unlawful sex with a minor and smoking marijuana with a 12-year-old he had just met at 2:00 a.m. Procopio was charged with 1 felony count of PC 288, Lewd Act with a Minor with a sentencing enhancement. If convicted, Procopio faces 9 years, 8 months in state prison.

On August 16, 2010, Procopio, 31, alleged to have met the 12-year-old for the first time while playing basketball at a local school. Later that night, Procopio picked up the minor near her home and parked his car. The two began to smoke marijuana and ultimately began to have sexual intercourse.

Officers noticed the car parked with fogged windows. When they approached, they spotted Procopio with the minor. Procopio is being held on $100,000.00 bail.

Orange County Karate Instructor Pleads Guilty

Amonullah Sakhi, a karate instructor in Lake Forest was sentenced to 120 days in county jail for exposing himself to a mother and her baby. In addition to the county jail time, Sakhi will also have to register as a sex offender.

Sakhi was standing in the doorway of his home when the mother and her baby were walking by. According to the mother, Sakhi pulled down his pants and touched himself when she looked toward him. According to reports, Sakhi had previously been convicted of lewd conduct in 2004.

Robbery Suspect Leads Officers on High Speed Chase

Rajai Collier, of Santa Ana was arrested after officers saw him leaving the scene of a home invasion robbery. Witnesses reported the robbery at 7:40 a.m. describing a man with a firearm left the home in a white Dodge SUV.

Responding officers saw a vehicle matching the description of the SUV and tried to stop the vehicle. Collier sped away and led police on a 1.2 mile pursuit. Police located two loaded handguns in Colliers vehicle reported stolen property.

Orange County Man Sentenced to 15 Years to Life for Killing Mother in DUI

A man driving under the influence of prescription drugs as well as alcohol was sentenced to 15 years to life in Orange County. Alex Trujillo, of Garden Grove was found guilty by a jury to one count of murder. Trujillo, crashed his car into a woman who was riding her bike with her son on the sidewalk when she was killed.

Catherine Busse was on the sidewalk riding her bike in Seal Beach with her son Samuel Busse at approximately 5:00 p.m. on October 12, 2008. Trujillo, due to his level of intoxication jumped the curb and struck Mrs. Busse at 45 mph. Bystanders called 911 and detained Trujillo at the scene until law enforcement and emergency personnel arrived.

Trujillo was driving with a blood alcohol level of .11 but also had Oxycontin, Vicodin, Xanax and Soma in his system. In addition to this DUI, Trujillo also had been convicted previously of the same offense in 2002.

Arson Investigator Charged with Misdemeanor by Orange County DA

Darryl Powers, of La Palma was charged with one count of brandishing a gun at a woman at Turc’s Bar in Sunset Beach. If convicted, Powers faces from 90 days to 1 year in county jail and will be prohibited from owning a firearm.

While at Turc’s, it is alleged Powers pulled out a knife and stabbed it into the bar. The bartender then took the knife and told Powers he couldn’t have the knife in the bar. When the bartender stepped away, Powers took out a handgun and placed it on the bar with the barrel pointing to the woman sitting next to him. The woman asked Powers to put the gun away however, he refused. The woman complained to the bartender and they called the police.
